Do you work on winery buildings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Production space, storage and a public tasting room sit differently under the code, and what a building is used for changes the occupancy and the exiting. Getting that settled before the drawings start saves redrawing the set later. General agricultural structures are not something we take on.

Do you work on older downtown buildings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for documentation and tenant improvements. These buildings rarely match whatever drawings exist for them, and an accurate record of what is standing is what the designer and the project engineer both need before anything is designed against it. The structural assessment itself is the engineer's.

We are on a rural parcel outside the city. Who reviews it?

Accepted Answer

The county, not the city, and the standards differ. Parcels outside the city limit go to County of San Luis Obispo Planning and Building, which brings its own submittal checklist, its own setbacks and, on larger rural parcels, questions about septic and water that a city lot never raises. We check which counter your project is actually going to before we format the set.

Do you do ADUs in Paso Robles?

Accepted Answer

Regularly, both new builds and conversions. State ADU law sets the floor and the city applies its own standards on top for things like parking, height and design. We prepare the set to the city's current checklist, and where a conversion is involved we scan the existing structure first, because the real ceiling heights and slab levels decide what is possible.
